Valentine’s Gift Offers from Brookfield Zoo

Brookfield, Ill. – This Valentine’s Day, Brookfield Zoo has the perfect gift ideas for everyone in your life, from your significant other, kids, friends, and office colleagues to even a unique way to honor an ex.

The Zoo’s Valentine’s Day Gift Guide, which can be found online at CZS.org/valentine, features:
Name a Cockroach
Once again, Brookfield Zoo is offering the opportunity to symbolically name a cockroach in honor of someone special – or not-so-special – in your life. With a minimum donation of $15, a Madagascar hissing cockroach will be named after an ex or even for that special someone who loves bugs. Donors will receive a Certificate of Naming that can be filled out and shared or hung on a wall to remember the cockroach. Plus, the first names will be hung on the Cockroach Naming Board at Hamill Family Play Zoo if submitted by 5 p.m. on February 5.

Book a Wild Connection
Give a loved one the opportunity to get up close to an animal at Brookfield Zoo. The behind-the-scenes Wild Connections offer unforgettable moments with some very charismatic species, Humboldt penguins, macaws, North American river otter, flamingos, leopard sharks, rainforest birds, and the Zoo’s animal ambassadors. Depending on the program, prices range from $80 to $150.

Animal Adoption
Celebrate the slow-burn romance between Brookfield’s two-toed sloths Raisin and Luigi this Valentine’s Day while also supporting the care of Brookfield Zoo’s animals by gifting an animal adoption. Raisin and Luigi’s adoption packages are $35 and $55, with the higher priced choice including a plush sloth. A Valentine’s Day message can accompany the gift. In order to guarantee delivery before Valentine’s Day, adoption packages must be ordered by February 6, or stop by the Zoo during regular hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to pick one up.

Penguin Cameo
Send the penguin lovers in your life a Valentine’s Day message they’ll never forget: a personalized cameo featuring Brookfield Zoo’s penguins! Cameos are available through February 12.

Printable Valentines
Perfect for a classroom Valentine’s Day exchange or to share with your coworkers, Brookfield Zoo is offering printable and family-friendly valentines featuring classic Zoo animals. For a $15 donation going to support the Zoo, you’ll receive a link to 12 exclusive valentines to download and print. The valentines, approximately 3 ¾-inch by 4 ¼-inch, feature the Zoo’s animals along with fun play-on-word messages such as “We Otter be Friends,” “You’ve Goat a Friend in Me,” “Hoppy Valentine’s Day,” and “You’re Purr-fect, Valentine.”

Zoo Membership
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your partner or family by purchasing a Brookfield Zoo membership—the gift that keeps on giving! Memberships also include free parking at the Zoo’s north entrance and discounts at restaurants inside the park, education programs, and much more! Prices range from $89 for a one-year senior membership to $1,013 for a two-year sustaining unlimited membership.

The winter season is a great time to stroll around Brookfield Zoo to see many of the animals such as the brown bears and Amur leopards that enjoy the cooler temperatures as well as to visit the Zoo’s many indoor tropical-themed habitats. The Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $29.95 for adults, $20.95 for children ages 3-11, and $24.95 for seniors 65 and older. In January and February, admission to the Zoo is free on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Parking is $17-$20.
