Lions, polar bears, orangutans, white pelicans, and giraffes were the subjects of more than 320 photos that were submitted in the Chicago Zoological Society’s 2010 Photo Contest. A panel of professional photographers judged the photos, from which they selected a grand prize winner and first-, second, and third-place winners in an adult and child category. The winning photos are on display in Brookfield Zoo’s Discovery Center lobby through the end of the year.

Thomas Mohr of Chicago won the grand prize with his photo of three raccoons peering around the corner of a shed. Mohr received an airline voucher for round-trip main cabin air transportation for himself and a companion to any destination in the continental United States, excluding Alaska and Hawaii, served directly by American Airlines.
