CZS proudly welcomes Dr. Greg Rasmussen, founder of the Painted Dog Research Trust in Zimbabwe. Since 1989, Dr. Rasmussen has been engaged in the longest-running study of painted dogs. Dr. Rasmussen and his team has tracked the dogs and implemented anti-snare collars on these highly endangered carnivores. Join us as Dr. Rasmussen shares his fascinating stories from the field and how his innovative work has played a crucial role in painted dog conservation.

Animals as Ambassadors

Still curious about the new Wild Encounters exhibit? Vice President of Collection and Animal Care, Bill Zeigler, along with Hamill Family Play Zoo Curator, Glenn Granat, will introduce guests to our animal ambassadors and highlight the crucial role they play in conservation. These ambassadors and their caregivers provide zoo visitors with unique up close and personal experiences and can be visited at our Wild Encounters exhibit opening this summer.
