Party for the Planet
Sunday, April 27
Every day is Earth Day at Brookfield Zoo, but on this very special day we will be showcasing some of the steps you can commit to that will truly make a difference for animals across the globe!
This year we will focus on the African Painted Dog which are medium-size dogs that live on the savannah and in the open woodlands of central and southern Africa. They have a distinctively patterned coat, and no two are exactly alike. Black, yellow, white, and dark brown are the main colors in the wild dog pallet, and these colors are in an almost unlimited combination of patterns. With only 6,000 in the wild, African Painted Dogs are more endangered than elephants, rhinos and lions. There will be African Painted Dog themed activities including an artifact touch station, painting dog cut-outs, and special Zoo Chats at Habitat Africa! The Savannah at 11:30 a.m., 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
Party for the Planet will be filled with educational, engaging, and fun activities for the entire family including:
