Work with Merchandise Manager to ensure on-going implementation of annual merchandise plan at all locations. Monitor compliance with assortment plans at each store and report status to the Operations Manager and Merchandise Manager. Maintain the assortment planning module in The Assistant Manager (TAM) inventory management system to support buying plan and make adjustments as assigned by Merchandise Manager to adapt to emergent business needs. Prepare patients for transport to local hospital, including lifting patients on a backboard or stretcher, patient extrication or assisting with patient care in the ambulance. Monitor facilities, parking lots and adjacent properties for safety, hazards and security. Interview complainants and witnesses; analyze probable sequence of events; seek additional data through research; identify, arrest and take into custody offender(s) for probable cause; advise such persons of their constitutional rights; search subjects for office safety and testify in court proceedings to provide known facts and evidence. Transport arrested individuals to appropriate jurisdictions for further processing as necessary. Monitor behavior and condition of animal collection, conditions of the buildings and facilities during night shift, and provide assistance as necessary to Society officials and other staff. Monitor fire alarm system, respond to activations, and take necessary corrective actions. Actively participate on assigned department team(s) including, but not limited to: vehicle maintenance, investigations, EMS, keys/locks, training, incident response, radios, employee parking and firearms. Maintain required Emergency Medical Certification and remain current on mandated continuation education as directed by resource hospital; maintain firearm qualifications as required. Provide assistance in law enforcement and other assigned activities to local community police departments as requested or assigned. Perform skilled and semi-skilled crafts duties throughout the park with direct guidance. Learn operating procedures of the Chicago Zoological Society. Assure work performed meets section standards, client specifications, applicable codes and standards, and program goals and is aesthetically pleasing to guests. This includes routine craftsman tasks, as well as those associated with preventative maintenance, special repair projects, capital construction, special events, emergency and safety, unanticipated special repairs, unanticipated capital projects and overhead as directed. Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships and work cooperatively with peers, managers, and clients. Adhere to Plant & Facilities section's quality control standards. Requirements: Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or other related field or equivalent combination of training and/or experience required.
