We Love Scrapbooking (the Historical Kind)

We’re 75 years young! That’s right: Brookfield Zoo opened 75 years ago (on July 1, to be exact). In those decades, we’ve had lots of fascinating adventures and great successes in education, animal care, and conservation.

Now we want you to help us honor our semisesquicentennial. (In common terms? That’s a 75-year celebration.) Probably the best record of our 75 years is the photographic memories of our millions of guests, which is why we’re creating an Online Scrapbook of guests’ photos. So send us your photos of Brookfield Zoo from the last 75 years and we’ll post them here. We’re excited to see every last one of them.

All you have to do is e-mail your favorite photos (along with info on the photos, like the year or decade they were taken) to scrapbook@czs.org. We’ll take up to five per entrant. But even if you send just one, you will be entered into a chance to win a Wild Encounters package, a one-year Family Membership, or a copy of Brookfield Zoo and the Chicago Zoological Society during a special drawing on August 3.

A couple of details: we can take photos in JPEG or PNG formats. And we’ll take them through August 2, 2009.

You want official rules? You got ‘em. They’re right here.

Thank you!
