Shimmy and Shake at Brookfield Zoo’s Zoo Tunes Concert
Country Music Takes Center Stage on August 29

Brookfield, IL— Brookfield Zoo’s 4th annual Zoo Tunes, a free summer concert series presented by Bank of America, concludes on Sunday, August 29, with a celebration of country music. Gather the family and head to Brookfield Zoo’s East Mall to listen to performances by Cowboy Troy with Cross County Junction, The Lost Trailers, and Jimmy Wayne.

Cowboy Troy and locally based Cross County Junction get the show started at 1:00 p.m. Both acts have broken the mold of your typical country band, bringing together diverse sounds in a way that has energized a new breed of country music fans. Cowboy Troy’s music is a fusion of country, rap, and rock that is causing quite a stir throughout the country music world. Cross County Junction’s mix of musical styles features a solid rhythm section and a dynamic blend of harmonies.

The music continues at 3:00 p.m. with a performance by The Lost Trailers who were nominated for the 2010 Academy of Country Music’s Top New Vocal Group. The band’s injection of southern soul into contemporary country is sure to add new listeners to their already fiercely loyal fan base.

Rounding out the day’s performances at 5:00 p.m. is Jimmy Wayne. Beginning his career as a song writer for the Opryland Music Group’s famed Acuff-Rose firm, Wayne turned his passion for music into a recording contract. Whether performing the country-chart-topping "Do You Believe Me Now? or his hit ballad “Sara Smile,” Jimmy will end the day’s festivities on a high note.

The event, sponsored by American Airlines is an AStar Production.

All Zoo Tunes performances are free with regular zoo admission of $13.50 for adults and $9.50 for children 3-11 and seniors 65. Children 2 and under are free. Parking is $9. For further information, visit www.CZS.org or call (708) 688-8000.
