Wines in the Wild Supports Conservation and Education Programs at Brookfield Zoo

Brookfield, IL—Wine enthusiasts can sample domestic and international wines while helping support conservation and education programs at the 10th annual Wines in the Wild fundraiser on Saturday, October 23, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The function, which will be held in Brookfield Zoo’s Discovery Center, is hosted by the Women’s Board of the Chicago Zoological Society.
Guests will have the opportunity to sample wines from locations around the world, including Germany, Spain, Australia, and the United States, provided by the evening’s purveyor, Prestige Countryside Liquors. Wines will be accompanied by delectable hors d’oeuvres prepared by the zoo’s talented culinary staff. Guests who discover a favorite new wine will also be able to purchase a bottle to take home. Ten percent of all proceeds from wine purchases during the evening will be donated back to Brookfield Zoo.
In addition, there will be live and silent auctions featuring fabulous items available for bidding throughout the evening. Among the items are jewelry from A. Marek Jewelers, a selection of wines, exciting trips, animal naming rights, and ticket packages to the Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox, Lyric Opera, Chicago Symphony, and Steppenwolf Theatre.
Tickets to Wines in the Wild are $100 per person and include the tasting, zoo admission, parking, and a commemorative wine glass. For reservations and further information, please visit www.czs.org/wines or contact the Development Department at (708) 688-8390.
Conservation initiatives and education programs benefitting from Wines in the Wild are special projects of the Women's Board. The Chicago Zoological Society, which manages Brookfield Zoo, is a world leader in conservation biology research and field studies that enhance learning locally and internationally. In addition, education programs at Brookfield Zoo serve hundreds of thousands of school children each year, and reach out into under-served communities to help people develop a sustainable relationship with nature with the hope of inspiring conservation leadership.
Open every day of the year, Brookfield Zoo is located off First Avenue between the Stevenson (I-55) and Eisenhower (I-290) expressways and is also accessible via the Tri-State Tollway (I-294), Metra commuter line, CTA, and PACE bus service.
