Shake, Rattle, and ROAR!
Zoo Tunes Kicks Off June 13 at Brookfield Zoo
Brookfield, IL— Shimmy and shake the summer away at Brookfield Zoo’s 4th annual Zoo Tunes, a summer concert series presented by Bank of America. The series kicks off on Sunday, June 13, and will feature exciting, family-friendly musical performances all summer long on the zoo’s East Mall.
At 1:00 p.m., jump and jive with Jumpitz, an award-winning, live action group that uses story, song, and dance to empower preschoolers to be curious, creative, and active. The energetic performance will help build self-esteem and encourage kids to "jump in" and problem solve, learn, and be anything they can imagine.
The fun continues at 2:00 p.m. with a mega-fun performance of “Ralph’s World” by Ralph Covert, an indie rocker, songwriter, playwright, and children’s book author. He has hundreds of thousands of fans three-feet-and-under and is best known for revamping Huggies' Pull-Ups song "Do the Potty Dance” and his award-winning “Say Hello” DVD.
Additional Zoo Tunes concerts include performances on July 18 by Belinda (time TBA) and on August 29 by Cowboy Troy & Cross County Junction (1:00 p.m.), The Lost Trailers (3:00 p.m.), and Jimmy Wayne (5:00 p.m.).
All Zoo Tunes concerts are free with regular zoo admission of $13.50 for adults and $9.50 for children 3-11 and seniors 65 and older. Children 2 and under are free. Parking is $9. For further information, visit www.CZS.org or call (708) 688-8000. Zoo Tunes is also sponsored by American Airlines.
