Shimmy and Shake This Summer at Zoo Tunes
Free Summer Concert Series Kicks Off June 7 at Brookfield Zoo
Brookfield, IL—This summer, grab your lawn chair and head to Brookfield Zoo to groove your summer days during the 3rd annual Zoo Tunes, a free summer concert series presented by Bank of America. The series kicks off on Sunday, June 7 on the zoo’s East Mall, and will feature exciting musical performances fit for the whole family.
In celebration of the Dinosaurs Alive! exhibit at the zoo, Dino Rock will take the stage on the zoo’s East mall for two performances at noon and 2:00 p.m. Featuring Danny Diplodocus, "Hack," the hadrosaur from Hackensack, and all their life-sized, colorful prehistoric friends, the band has been delighting family audiences for more than 20 years with its musical introduction to the world of science through the one subject that seems to excite everyone’s imagination—dinosaurs. From Dinah Diplodocus and Stella Stegosaurus to Tootsie Triceratops and a whole flock of pterodactyls, guests will have a great time skipping back in time -- and then they can visit Dinosaurs Alive! to complete the dino day. A must for all dinosaur devotees!
At 1:00 and 3:00 p.m., put your hands together and stomp your feet during two electrifying, interactive performances by the Alex and the Kaleidoscope Band. The band’s concerts are lively and engaging and always include music from Africa and South America, which will have some of Brookfield Zoo’s animals feeling at home! The band’s music will captivate family members of all ages with its contagious rhythms and sing-a-longs that unfold like a storybook.
