Ape Awareness Weekend

Saturday, APEril 28th and Sunday, APEril 29th

Sponsored by:

Tropic World:  10:30 am - 3:00 pm

Learn about apes, their plight in the wild and the need for conservation. Join zoo staff and volunteers inside Tropic Tropic World for ape-related activities and to help support ape conservation.

Recycle Cell Phones and Save Gorillas

Did you know you can help save gorillas by recycling your old cell phones?

Mining for coltan, a mineral widely used in cell phones, is threatening gorillas and other forest species in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We are currently accepting your old cell phone and their accessories, pagers, handheld games, e-readers, and lap tops at the zoo’s recycling stations located at North and South Gates.

Palm Oil Guides:

Deforestation for Palm Oil farming is threatening organutans and many other species.  You can help save these species by educating yourself on products that support guidelines for sustainable growing of Palm Oil.
