I have not received my membership materials in the mail yet, can I still visit the zoo?
During our busiest time of year, it takes approximately four to six weeks to process memberships purchased online (and six weeks for offline purchases). When you join online, you will receive a link to a temporary membership card. This can be printed at home to gain immediate access to the zoo for one month. If you purchased a membership offline and have not received your permanent materials and/or if your temporary membership materials are expired, please know that you can always gain free admission to Brookfield Zoo. We ask that you please present any valid photo ID and we will verify your membership status.

What if I lose my membership card or leave it at home?
As a current member, you may always visit Brookfield Zoo for free. Just show your driver’s license to the parking attendant and tell them you are a member. The attendant will verify that your membership is current and will admit you. Stop by the Guest Relations building near the main entrance at North Gate for a temporary card so you can enjoy member benefits during your visit. If your card is permanently lost, a replacement can be issued for a nominal fee. You can request a replacement card by calling the Membership Department at  708-688-8341.

Can someone else use my membership card?
Your membership card is for your use only and may not be loaned or given to anyone else to use. Identification is always required in addition to a membership card for free admission to Brookfield Zoo and free parking in the main lot at North Gate.

Do I need my member car decal to receive my member benefits?
The window decal allows you to show the world you support Brookfield Zoo. It does not entitle you to member benefits; only your valid membership card does this. The decal will stick to your window without adhesive so it is easy to remove. Just peel off the backing and apply the decal to the inside of a clean window. If the decal doesn’t stick, wet the surface and try again. If you would like a new decal, you can request one from the Guest Relations center near the North Gate entrance.

What is a Temporary Membership Card?
After a completed online membership purchase, you will be able to view your Order Receipt with a link to your Temporary Membership Card. Print this card and show it to the gate attendant for FREE admission and parking at the main lot while you are waiting to receive your permanent membership card and any tickets or passes included with the membership via U.S. mail.

I purchased a Family Plus membership online today and want to use my Dolphin Show tickets tomorrow.
Any tickets or passes included in your membership will be sent via U.S. mail along with your permanent membership card. Tickets and passes cannot be picked up at the zoo.

Where is my membership card number?
On your permanent membership card, you'll find your membership number under the barcode. Use this number when calling the membership office with questions or signing up for Education classes.

Does Brookfield Zoo have reciprocal admission relationships with other zoos?
At this time, Brookfield Zoo does not have reciprocal agreements with any other zoo. A Brookfield Zoo membership is not valid at any other zoo and other zoo memberships are not valid at Brookfield Zoo.

Does Brookfield Zoo exchange its member names with other organizations?
Occasionally, we make our members' mailing addresses--but not phone numbers or email addresses--available to local cultural organizations (zoos and museums) that may have offers of interest to our members. (We do not make this information available to catalog distributors or charities.) If you do not wish to receive information from local cultural organizations, please send an email to
member.questions@BrookfieldZoo.org with your full name, address, and membership number in the message and the words "Opt Out" in the subject line.
