The African Painted Dog is critically endangered throughout its range and its sustainability is at risk in captivity. The goal of this conference is to bring together all people and institutions that are invested in the success of the African Painted Dog population both in professional care facilities and in the wild.

The inaugural workshop was hosted by Pittsburgh Zoo in April 2011 and brought together zoo managers, keepers and researchers from around the world.

The 2014 Conference will be held in Chicago and hosted by Chicago Zoological Society. Meetings will be held at Brookfield Zoo from April 29 –May 2. The SSP Planning Meeting will be on Friday, May 2nd.

Come join us in helping enhance and improve the care and conservation of African Painted Dogs. Through the exchange of practical knowledge and experience from specialists around the world we will advance the welfare and sustainability of this wonderful species.
