Zoos & Aquariums Take Action to Conserve Vulnerable Bird Species

For those of you who frequently read our blogs, you are probably aware of some of the amazing ex situ conservation projects the Chicago Zoological Society is a part of involving species such as the Guam kingfisher. The effort to conserve vulnerable bird species is an action many zoos and aquariums take on.

Sasha Amur Leopard Cub Explores the Outdoors

Brookfield Zoo reopens on July 1 to members and July 8 to the general public, and when they visit they'll have the chance to see one of the newest arrivals while the zoo was closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sasha, an Amur leopard who was born on March 3, has been spending his time in the den bonding with mom Lisa. However, he's now started emerging from the den and exploring his outdoor habitat.
