You are correct. Public feeding is just one of the many reasons geese like living at Brookfield Zoo. We always try to discourage feeding when we see it. I am sorry your picnic was interrupted.

The geese are used to people feeding them now, that's why they are not leaving. We were not able to enjoy the picnic area yesterday, because the geese kept coming within a foot of us begging for food like dogs. We had to get up and leave the area.
