YOWIE Chocolate Celebrates the Season of Giving by Delivering Holiday Treats to Animals and Zoogoers at Brookfield Zoo

Brookfield, Ill.—Today, December 14, YOWIE Chocolate, a leading Australian chocolate brand, is helping to spread holiday cheer to a few of the animals at Brookfield Zoo. Rumble, the company’s mascot, delivered a holiday "fishmas" tree adorned with herring and vegetables to Hudson, one of the zoo’s polar bears who is celebrating his 11th birthday today, and a tree decorated with meat and bones to Foli, a 14-year-old Amur tiger.
In honor of Wildlife Conservation Day, which was held earlier this month, YOWIE Chocolate wants to give back to the zoo community and spread their message of saving the natural world. In addition to the animals receiving treats, guests visiting Brookfield Zoo received a free YOWIE chocolate sample. Inside each YOWIE chocolate is a limited-edition replica of a wild animal—many under the real threat of extinction—accompanied with an educational pamphlet, directing consumers to and the YOWIE app to learn more about “saving the natural world.” Youngsters will also receive the chocolate treats if they visit Santa and Mrs. Claus during Brookfield Zoo’s Holiday Magic festival on December 16, when the zoo will be open until 9:00 p.m.
Throughout the year, the zoo’s animal care staff are always thinking of different ways to physically and mentally stimulate the animals at Brookfield Zoo. One way is by providing them with seasonal enrichment items they normally do not receive on a regular basis.
