FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nighttime Reindeer Run at Brookfield Zoo

Two-mile course all lit up for the Holiday Season

Brookfield, Ill. – Grab your glow stick, don your running shoes, and join in Brookfield Zoo’s second annual Reindeer Run, sponsored by Revolution Brewing, on Friday, November 29. Participants can "fun run" or walk along the two-mile course that weaves throughout the park and is adorned with more than one million LED lights as part of the zoo’s annual Holiday Magic festival, which begins November 30.

Before or after running the course, participants can enjoy a spin or two on the Carousel and meet the zoo’s animal ambassadors that will make an appearance at 6:00 p.m. In addition, there will be a selection of food and beverages available for purchase. Registered participants, who are 21 or older, will receive a complimentary beer, courtesy of Revolution Brewing.

The non-competitive run will kick-off at 7:00 p.m. in front of the Pavilions. Registrants should enter the zoo via the north gate. Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. Family and friends, who are not participating, are welcome to cheer on their favorite runners, but will have limited access to only the North Mall, Pavilions, and Carousel Plaza during and after the run.

Reindeer Run is a rain, shine, or snow event. Participants are encouraged to be prepared and wear proper clothing and footwear. Registration for Reindeer Run is $27 per person (plus a $2.50 sign-up fee), which includes a commemorative warm knit beanie featuring the Reindeer Run logo. Space is limited. To register and for additional information, go to CZS.org/reindeerrun.
