FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Brookfield Zoo “Bringing the Zoo to You” during Facebook Live Chats
Brookfield, Ill. – Currently, with Brookfield Zoo temporarily closed to its guests and many people isolated in their homes in order to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Chicago Zoological Society staff has implemented “Bringing the Zoo to You” animal chats via Facebook Live. On weekdays at 11:00 a.m. CST, parents looking for ways to make their kids’ time (or even their own time) at home entertaining and educational, can tune in to the zoo’s Facebook page. Animal care specialists will feature one or more of the zoo’s charismatic creatures each weekday and share plenty of facts as well as answer questions. Upcoming live chats will include Mexican wolves, dwarf Nigerian goats, California sea lions, and a tamandua (pronounced Ta-man-do-a).
Those who cannot tune in at 11:00 a.m. on Facebook will be able to access “Bringing the Zoo to You” videos on Brookfield Zoo’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. The Facebook Live chats have been scheduled for weekdays while the zoo is closed.
