Cell Phone Recycling
If you have a growing number of phone and electronics gathering dust in a drawer, Brookfield Zoo has your number. We have launched a cell phone recycling program in partnership with Eco-Cell, and we are accepting cell phones, smartphones, iPods, iPads and tablets.
You can drop off your electronics at either entrance by the North and South Gates, or give to any zoo staff member.
Mining for coltan, a mineral widely used in cell phones and other portable communication devices, is threatening gorillas and other forest species in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Our two new cell phone recycling stations offers you a chance to help protect gorillas by recycling these products.
ECO-CELL recommends that individuals donating cellphones discontinue service and factory reset their phones before turning them in for recycling.
