The 40th Annual Whirl

Get ready to go Virtu-Whirl again! As you may already know, there continue to be regulations limiting the size of gatherings as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Due to these ongoing regulations, the Society’s leadership has made the decision to transition this year’s 40th Anniversary Whirl, scheduled for Saturday, May 1, 2021, to a virtual event.

Coming Soon - Virtu-Whirl
Melissa and Michael Canning, Whirl 2021 co-chairs, are working hard to put together a wonderful virtual event for all of you! We hope you will join us for this enhanced Virtu-Whirl, which will include many exciting features. As in 2020, you will once again be able to watch our upgraded main event program, bid on auction items, and participate in our paddle raise, all from the comfort of your home.

Additional details will be shared on this page over the coming weeks regarding how to participate with our Virtu-Whirl. Please continue to check back for more information.

Show Your Support
As a non-profit organization, we rely on ticket sales, zoo visits, memberships, education program fees, donations, and meeting revenue to operate. As the largest fundraising event hosted by the Chicago Zoological Society, the Whirl plays a vital role in supporting critical operational costs. We continue to face the financial challenges we saw in 2020, and now – more than ever – we need your help. Join us in keeping the spirit of the Whirl alive – especially as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the event.

If you’re interested in being an event patron, please download this Whirl Reply Form and return the completed form to Kerri Doherty at Kerri.Doherty@czs.org, or make a donation below.”
