Kirk's Dik-dik - Captain
Dik-dik are one of the smaller antelope species with a slender build; average adult height is 12-16 inches. They are found in the dry terrain with thicket vegetation and kopjes of Kenya, Somalia, and Tanzania.
Typical of most antelope, Dik-dik have acute eyesight in addition to a keen sense of smell and hearing; these factors help them avoid predators.
The dik-dik received their name from the vocalization they make when excited or alarmed. They produce a “zik zik” or “dik dik” call.
