Pygmy Hippopotamus - Banana

Banana Pygmy Hippopotamus was born on August 27, 2019 at a facility in Florida, and arrived at Brookfield Zoo earlier this year. She was given the name Banana because it rhymes with her mom's name, Lana. Despite her name, she doesn't really like bananas, but does enjoy the wide variety of lettuces she is offered as part of her daily diet. Banana enjoys swimming and playing in her big indoor pool, especially if she can swim in and under large pieces of browse (freshly cut branches).
