Brookfield Zoo Announces Lights & Lagers – A Holiday Beer Tasting Event

Brookfield, Ill. -- Get into the holiday spirit while strolling along pathways illuminated with more than one million LED lights and sampling a wide selection of beers at Brookfield Zoo’s Lights & Lagers on Friday, November 30, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Five tasting areas—the underwater viewing galleries at Seven Seas and Great Bear Wilderness, the ITW Room with animal ambassadors, Feathers and Scales, and the Holly Jolly Theater—will be open with representatives from breweries serving a variety of their year-round and seasonal beers. In addition, revelers can take the chill off in between tasting areas by visiting the warming stations, which will be located in a few of the animal buildings, including Tropic World (animals on exhibit until 8:00 p.m.) and The Swamp.
Breweries in attendance include Blue Moon Brewing Company, Ballast Point Brewing Company, Kinslahger Brewing Company, and Revolution Brewing.

Tickets are $45 (plus a nominal service fee). The price includes parking in the zoo’s north main lot at 8400 31st Street in Brookfield, 3 oz. samplings from participating breweries, and a commemorative Lights & Lagers tasting glass. A general admission designated driver ticket is also available for $35 (plus a nominal service fee), and includes unlimited soft drinks (no beer sampling allowed). Brookfield Zoo members are encouraged to check their email for a promotional code to receive an exclusive member’s discount.

All Lights & Lagers ticket holders must be 21 years of age or older with proper photo ID. No children will be allowed to attend the event, and all sales are final. Tickets are limited and available at CZS.org/lightsandlagers.
